What is Fenistil gel and what is it used for
Fenistil Gel contains an active substance that belongs to a group of drugs called antihistamines. Fenistil Gel is used to relieve itching associated with skin rashes, hives, insect bites, sunburns and superficial burns.
Fenistil Gel stops itching by blocking the mode of action of histamine, a substance released by the human body during an allergic reaction. Because the gel easily penetrates the skin, itching and irritations are quickly soothed, in a few minutes. Fenistil Gel also has a local anesthetic effect.
If after 7 days you do not feel better or if you feel worse, you must consult a doctor.
How to use Fenistil gel
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Fenistil Gel is administered locally 2-4 times a day, on the affected skin surface. Contact your doctor if symptoms persist for more than a week.
If you use more Fenistil Gel than you should: if you or a child accidentally swallows this medicine, contact your doctor immediately.
If you forget to use Fenistil Gel: do not use a double dose to compensate for the forgotten dose.
If you have any additional questions about this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, Fenistil Gel can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Some adverse reactions have an unknown frequency (the frequency cannot be estimated from the available data): feeling of dryness; burning sensation on the skin; eruptions accompanied by itching.
Presentation form: Tube with 50g gel
