Mode of action:
Fenbendazole is ingested orally by worms and blocks the polymerization of tubulin, a structural protein within the nerve cell axon, thereby affecting the absorption and transport functions of the cells in the parasite. Pyrantel acts as an antagonist on nicotinic cholinergic receptors in ganglia, leading to spastic neuro-muscular paralysis of the worms. Praziquantel increases the permeability of cell membranes to calcium ions, resulting in muscle contractions in the parasite.
