A dosing schedule should be established after consulting with a veterinarian. As a general rule, a standard deworming schedule for puppies is every 2 weeks until they are 12 weeks old, then every month until they are 6 months old. If a dog owner chooses not to use regular deworming treatments, an alternative may be to examine feces every month during this period.

Special Warnings:

Resistance of parasites to any class of anthelmintics may develop after frequent, repeated use of an anthelmintic from that class. Fleas serve as intermediate hosts for a common type of tapeworm - Dipylidium caninum. Tapeworm infestations will certainly reoccur unless intermediate hosts, such as fleas, mice, etc., are controlled. To avoid reinfestation, all animals kept together should be treated simultaneously. Cleaning after treatment is crucial to prevent the recurrence and spread of infestation.

Giardia spp. could infest humans; please seek medical advice if your puppy is infested.
