Caniverm Oral Paste is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic designed for easy oral administration in dogs, cats, and other carnivores. It is formulated to treat and prevent parasitic infections caused by roundworms and tapeworms. The paste format makes it convenient for dosing in animals that may not easily consume tablets.

Composition (per 10 ml syringe):

  • Fenbendazole
  • Pyrantel embonate
  • Praziquantel

Mode of action:

  • Fenbendazole: Inhibits the polymerization of tubulin, a structural protein in the parasite’s nerve cells, disrupting vital absorption and transport functions, leading to the elimination of roundworms and some tapeworms.
  • Pyrantel embonate: Acts as a nicotinic cholinergic antagonist, causing neuromuscular paralysis in roundworms by affecting their nerve and muscle function.
  • Praziquantel: Increases the permeability of cell membranes to calcium ions, causing muscle contractions, paralysis, and death of the tapeworms.

Indications:
For the treatment and control of parasitic infections caused by roundworms and tapeworms in dogs, cats, and other carnivores, including:

  • Toxocara canis, Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina
  • Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum, Trichuris vulpis
  • Echinococcus granulosus, Echinococcus multilocularis
  • Dipylidium caninum, Taenia spp., Multiceps multiceps, Mesocestoides spp.

Dosage and Administration:

  • Administer orally in a single dose.
  • The paste can be applied directly into the animal’s mouth or mixed with food.

  • Small dogs, puppies, and cats: 0.5 ml per 1-2 kg body weight
  • Medium-sized dogs: 1 ml per 5 kg body weight
