Biomec 10 mg is an injectable solution containing ivermectin, a broad-spectrum antiparasitic agent used in veterinary medicine. It is highly effective against a wide range of internal and external parasites in cattle, sheep, goats, swine, and other livestock. This product is designed to control parasites like gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, and ectoparasites such as lice and mites.

Active Ingredient (per 1 ml):

  • Ivermectin: 10 mg

Mode of action:

  • Ivermectin: Works by binding to specific chloride ion channels in the parasite's nerve and muscle cells, causing paralysis and death. It is effective against both adult and larval stages of parasites, preventing infestations and controlling existing ones.

Indications:
Biomec 10 mg is used for the treatment and control of:

  • Internal parasites (nematodes):
    • Gastrointestinal roundworms (Haemonchus, Ostertagia, Trichostrongylus, Cooperia, Nematodirus, Oesophagostomum)
    • Lungworms (Dictyocaulus spp.)
  • External parasites (ectoparasites):
    • Mange mites (Sarcoptes, Psoroptes, Chorioptes)
    • Lice (Haematopinus, Linognathus, Solenopotes)
    • Warbles (larvae of Hypoderma bovis and Hypoderma lineatum)

Dosage and Administration:

  • Administer by subcutaneous injection.
  • Cattle and sheep: 1 ml per 50 kg body weight (equivalent to 200 µg/kg of ivermectin).
  • Pigs: 1 ml per 33 kg body weight.

The exact dosage and treatment schedule should be determined by a veterinarian depending on the type of infestation and animal species.

Precautions:

  • Not for use in animals intended for human consumption within the withdrawal period.
  • Avoid use in lactating animals producing milk for human consumption.
