Indications for use, specifying the target species

Depending on body weight, dogs are divided into weight groups (see point 4.9):

- the treatment of flea infestation or mixed infestations with ticks and/or lice in dogs.

- treatment of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides spp.). Insecticidal efficacy against new infestations with adult fleas persists for 8 weeks. Prevention of the multiplication of fleas by inhibiting the development of eggs (ovicidal action) and larvae and pupae (larvicidal action) that come from eggs laid by adult fleas persists 8 weeks after applying the product.

- treatment of tick infestations (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor variabilis, Dermacentor reticulatus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus). The product has an acaricidal efficacy of up to 4 weeks against ticks.

- treatment of infestations with malophagous lice (Trichodectes canis).

The product can be used as part of the treatment strategy to control allergic dermatitis caused by fleas (DAP), previously diagnosed by the veterinarian.

Contraindications

In the absence of available data, the product is not administered to puppies less than 8 weeks old or weighing less than 2 kg.

Do not administer the product to sick animals (systemic diseases, fever) or to those in convalescence.

The product should not be administered to rabbits, due to the risk of serious adverse reactions or even death.

The product is indicated especially for dogs. Do not administer to cats and ferrets, as overdose may occur.

Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients.

Special warnings for each target species

Data on the effectiveness of the product after bathing/shampooing the animals are insufficient. That is why this practice is not recommended for 2 days after applying the product or more frequently than once a week. Emollient shampoos can be used before treatment, but if used weekly, they reduce the duration of protection against fleas to approximately 5 weeks. Weekly bathing with medicated shampoo with chlorhexidine 2% does not affect the effectiveness of the product against fleas, as it appears from studies carried out over a period of 6 weeks.

Ticks may appear sporadically. Thus, it is impossible to completely exclude infection with diseases in unfavorable conditions.

Pet fleas often infest the animal's basket, linen and usual resting areas, such as carpets and other soft materials, which must be treated, in case of massive infestation and at the initiation of control measures, with an appropriate insecticide and vacuumed regularly.

Special precautions for use in animals

Avoid contact of the product with the animals' eyes.

It is important to make sure that the application of the product is done in a safe place where the animal cannot lick and it must be avoided that the animals lick each other after applying the treatment.

Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals

The product can cause irritation of mucous membranes, skin and eyes. Therefore, avoid contact of the product with the mouth, skin and eyes.

People with known hypersensitivity to insecticides or alcohol should avoid contact with the product. Avoid direct hand contact with the product. In case of accidental contact, wash your hands with soap and water.

In case of accidental contact with the eyes, wash abundantly with clean water.

Wash your hands after use.

In case of accidental ingestion, immediately seek medical advice and present the product leaflet or label.

Do not smoke, drink or eat while applying the product.

Do not touch the treated animals and do not let children play with them until the place of application of the product has dried. That is why it is not recommended to apply the treatment during the day but in the evening before going to bed, and the animals will not be allowed to sleep with the owners and especially with the children.
