TRAMVETOL 50mg - 30 Tablets for Pain Relief in Pets

Tablets: 50mg/tablet – box with 3 blisters of 10 tablets each

Indications:
Tablets: For the relief of mild acute and chronic musculoskeletal and soft tissue pain

Doses and method of administration:

 – 2-4mg/kg every 8 hours or as needed depending on pain intensity

 - the minimum administration interval is 6 hours

 - the maximum daily dose is 16mg/kg

 – the tablets can be divided into 2 equal parts

 Recommendations:

 - adapting the therapeutic protocol according to the needs and particularities of the individual

 - periodic re-examination of the patient to assess the need for additional analgesia by increasing the dose or adopting a multimodal analgesic approach with the addition of other appropriate analgesics

 Mechanism of action:

 – analgesia with central action

 - inhibits the capture of serotonin and intensifies its release, inhibits the reuptake of noradrenaline and following hepatic metabolism, O-desmethyltramadol has a higher affinity for μ-opioid receptors

 – analgesic potency: 1/10 – 1/6 of that of morphine

 Removal:

 - hepatic metabolism, glucuronoconjugation and elimination mainly by renal route

 – T1/2 = 0.5 – 2 hours

 Gestation, lactation, fertility – use in accordance with the benefit/risk assessment performed by the treating veterinarian
